You are not as in control of your thoughts as you think. The people you spend time with, the content you consume, the spaces you live and work in — all of it is shaping who you are becoming. Most men never audit it.
Your brain is constantly absorbing input from your environment and using it to form beliefs, expectations, and defaults. If you spend your time around men who complain, you will start to complain. If you consume content that is negative, outrage-driven, or low-quality, your thinking will reflect that. If your living space is chaotic, your mental state will follow.
This is not theory. It is neuroscience. Your environment is programming you whether you are paying attention or not.
The question is: are you designing your environment intentionally, or are you just absorbing whatever is around you?
Start with an audit. Look at the five people you spend the most time with. Are they building something? Do they hold themselves accountable? Do they challenge you or enable you? Look at the content you consume daily. Is it making you sharper or keeping you distracted? Look at your physical space. Does it reflect the standards of the man you want to be?
Then make changes. Not all at once. But deliberately. Upgrade one input at a time. The environment you build will build you back.
